LUX –
A New Material Palette for Architectural Steel
The materials applied to a building envelope influence its scale, rhythm and relationship with place. Texture, sheen and tonal variation shape how a façade responds to changing light and how individual forms are expressed.
The refreshed UniCote® LUX Signature collection brings together 11 finishes inspired by zinc, copper, timber and weathered steel. Seven new finishes join four established designs, expanding the palette available for façades, feature cladding, soffits and selected roofing applications across residential and commercial architecture.
The Warmth and Character of Copper
Brushed Copper, Burnished Brass and Rustic Copper introduce warmth, luminosity and depth to the range.
Brushed Copper features a fine linear texture that creates movement across the surface as lighting conditions change. Burnished Brass has a rich golden tone with a refined presence, while Rustic Copper draws on the patina and tonal variation associated with aged copper.
These finishes can establish the identity of a complete façade or be applied to specific elements such as entrances, upper volumes, soffits and feature walls. Their warm tones also create natural connections with masonry, stone and timber.

Zinc-inspired depth
Aged Zinc and Anthracite introduce understated elegance, refined texture and contemporary character to the UniCote® LUX Signature Range.
Aged Zinc captures the appearance of naturally patinated zinc, with soft mid-grey tones and fine linear graining that creates subtle variations in light and texture. Anthracite offers a darker interpretation, combining rich black tones with delicate vertical graining and gentle surface variation for a bold, contemporary finish.
These finishes can define an entire façade or introduce contrast through feature walls, entrances, upper volumes and soffits. Their neutral tones complement materials such as concrete, stone, timber and glass, making them versatile choices for both contemporary and traditional architecture.
Timber interpreted in steel
The wood-inspired collection includes the new Charred Timber and Beechwood finishes alongside Maple and Ashwood.
Charred Timber draws inspiration from Shou Sugi Ban, the traditional Japanese technique of charring timber to create a deeply textured, blackened surface. Its rich grain can bring rhythm and depth to façades, soffits and feature cladding.
Beechwood introduces a soft natural tone suited to calm, contemporary palettes. Maple and Ashwood offer familiar timber character through warm colouring and expressive grain patterns.
Together, the four finishes provide opportunities to introduce the visual warmth of timber across residential and commercial architecture using pre-painted steel.
The richness of weathered surfaces
Corten Red and Weathered Iron remain part of the UniCote® LUX collection.
Corten Red captures the warm, oxidised tones associated with weathered steel. Weathered Iron has a deep industrial character expressed through layered colour and surface variation.
These finishes work effectively across prominent façade elements, entrances and feature walls. Their rich appearance complements concrete, masonry, glass and timber, supporting material palettes with depth and a strong connection to place.
