The North Bellarine Aquatic Centre (NBAC) in Drysdale, Victoria, is a bold investment in community health and recreation. Stage one, featuring a heated outdoor 50-metre pool, is now complete, with planning underway for stage two—an indoor aquatic facility that will expand the centre’s offerings for local residents.

NBAC was developed in response to a pressing lack of aquatic amenities in the region. Designed as a modern, inclusive space, it caters to health, fitness, and recreation while fostering social connection. By prioritising accessibility, the centre serves as both a sporting destination and a community gathering place.

While the original concept featured traditional Corten steel, concerns over rust runoff led to a smarter solution: UniCote LUX in Corten Red. This premium pre-painted steel delivers the warm, textured aesthetic of weathered steel without the staining or maintenance issues. Its interlocking profile creates a sleek façade designed to withstand Australia’s coastal climate.
